The recent fire incident in and near the towns of Superior and Louisville Colorado was certainly sad. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by this fire.

While fighting the fire these cities used much water and had to switch to untreated water to keep up with demand. Consequently these towns issued a boiler order for water use. Once the boil order is lifted you want to flush the water with fresh chlorinated city water at each outlet. Remove any carbon filters in the path; sanitize and replace after flushing. If you have a chlorine test kit, use it to validate chlorine at discharge points, starting with the one furthest from the main. If you use a reverse osmosis membrane, you should change it also.
